All of the Amber

It’s official. We are one week from Thanksgiving. I don’t know about you, but on my end things are beginning to feel just a bit… rushed. I have a feeling this might be a trend this year, so here is the first in a series of last minute Thanksgiving inspiration posts. I’m sharing an easy, sweet & savory appetizer this weekend, and next week’s newsletter will round up my favorite fall recipes and content. But first, let’s set the table.

Amber glassware is an obsession of mine. (Symptom #42 of my overall addiction.) It’s warm and casual (almost neutral!) and still a little unexpected. I love amber for fall in general, but with some little extra touches like seasonal flowers and fresh rosemary, you’ve got a perfect Thanksgiving setup. Scroll on for the details of this shoppable post!

This cheesecloth runner* has become a go-to for more formal settings. It adds a little bit of drama without needing to be ironed. Win-win.

Holidays tend to involve a LOT of serving platters, so when it comes to flowers, I prefer to use smaller arrangements. They also have a low profile for easier conversation across the table. This vintage bud vase helps carry the color theme, and I don’t know if there’s a flower that screams “fall” louder than mums.

Similarly, I’ll usually opt for shorter candles so as not to block anyone’s view. Textured glass adds extra sparkle.

I chose to keep plates neutral to let the amber stand out. These are part of my everyday collection, mostly sourced from West Elm and Homegoods over the years. Just an example of how you can freshen up your regular pieces! Silverware is vintage.

Confession: I do not own napkin rings. This may come as a surprise to you, given the aforementioned addiction, but I think they’re cheesy! There, I said it! If you love napkin rings, you go on with your bad self, but I always opt for a more rustic look with simple folds, knots or twine. Here, a sprig of rosemary dresses up simple linen* and butcher twine. Thyme or eucalyptus would work too!

And finally, the star of the show. There are endless options for vintage amber glass on Etsy and new ones here*, here*, here* and here*.

Wishing you all a happy, safe and beautiful Thanksgiving!

Homegoods! Those particular ones are older, but they usually have similar styles.
